Chorus
Fourth and fifth grade students who love to sing are welcome to join us! We rehearse on Tuesday and Friday mornings before school at 7:30 AM in the Music Room. Our repertoire includes a variety of styles and periods. Performances include Christmas program in December, Pickens County Elementary Choral Festival in March, and Something Special in April.  Contact Mindy Allen for information--

Jump Rope
The Jump Rope Team meets every Monday and Wednesday morning at 7:20 a.m. in the gym. It is at practice that the students learn lifelong skills and work toward performances as a team. Clemson Elementary Jump Rope teams have performed at the Clemson Christmas Parade on a yearly basis since 1993. The teams have also performed at Clemson volleyball and basketball halftime shows numerous times. Jump ropers have also been a part of our very own Something Special and International Festival. Today our team has increased to over 100 students who work cooperatively, challenge each other, and interact positively. Contact Janice Wheeler for information--

Morning Read Aloud
The Morning Read Aloud is held Tuesday through Friday morning in the Library Media Center from 7:45 to 8:00 a.m. A novel is selected by Mrs. English and read in its entirety, on a continuous basis.  New novels are introduced on the Morning Announcements as readings are completed.
The objectives of this program are:

  • To introduce quality literature to youth.
  • To promote reading.
  • To enhance listening skills.

Interested students must sign-up and obtain passes in the library for each novel.  No new students will be admitted to the Read Aloud once the reading of a novel has begun. The program begins in October and ends in April.

Odyssey of the Mind

Reading Patch Club
Reading is fun and so is being a member of this exciting club!  Readers earn stickers and patches by reading and sharing books with peers.  Students who focus on one genre, such as mystery, and read and respond to 5 books in that genre will earn an embroidered patch. Reading selection is up to the individual club members.
The program begins in October and ends in April.
Volunteers are needed to guide book report discussions!
